Vice President Kamala Harris had Two Constitutional Duties

Vice President Kamala Harris had Two Constitutional Duties

The Constitution assigns two duties to the Vice President:

  1. Breaking the tie in the Senate

  2. Convening the cabinet to remove the president in case of a health problem

Regarding the first duty, Vice President Harris voted with Democrats on every single partisan bill that passed through the Senate, including the Inflation Reduction Act, which amounts to nearly a trillion dollars in green energy subsidies.

The American Rescue Plan was even worse. It was a $2 trillion spending package that poured gas on inflation. Next time you are at the grocery store, remember that Kamala Harris cast the tiebreaking vote that increased your grocery bills.

Being partisan is to be expected. Vice President Harris’s worst sin has been the dereliction of her Constitutional duty to report on the president’s mental acuity.

The 25th Amendment was largely passed because Woodrow Wilson was incapacitated for a year, during which his wife secretly ran the country. To prevent such occurrences in the future, the American people amended the Constitution. Here is an excerpt from its text:

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Biden has not been, and is not, capable of governing. That’s why he is not running for president—aside from the progressive and billionaire class coup. There is a bona fide political scandal regarding the White House cover-up for Joe Biden.

Harris is not just guilty of the cover-up as a political scandal. She neglected what the Constitution demands of her, which is convening the cabinet to vote on the president’s capacity to govern. This isn’t merely bad policy, folks; it’s ignoring her Constitutional duty. It’s comparable to the Watergate Hearings.

Will Rogers used to joke that “The man with the best job in the country is the Vice President. All he has to do is get up every morning and say, ‘How’s the President?’”

It would be unfathomable that Vice President Harris would not ask that question daily.

She either knew the answer and covered it up, or her relationship with the president was cursory at best.

It’s not as though Vice President Harris was too busy finding solutions to America’s immigration and border crisis, tasks President Biden had assigned to her. She had failed and given up on them. Apart from advocating for abortion and pandering to progressive groups, she had nothing else on her plate but to fulfill her Constitutional duty.

Fact check: She failed miserably.
